Apply for your mail-in ballot

Voting by mail is safe, secure, and easy in Pennsylvania.
By applying for a mail-in ballot and returning it as soon as you get it, you make sure that you’ll be able to cast your vote no matter what happens on election day. There’s a secure, easily-accessible ballot dropbox right in front of Eastern State Penitentiary. And if you do decide you want to vote at the polls on Election Day, you still can! Just bring your mail-in ballot with you and give it to the poll workers to void.

The last day to apply for your mail-in ballot is Tuesday, 4/16/24, at 5pm.

  • If you have a PA drivers license or PennDOT ID, you can apply for your mail-in ballot by clicking the left button below.

    • Answer “no” to the first three questions on the application. You can apply to vote by mail for any reason, and you don’t want to apply for an absentee ballot (they’re different things…it’s confusing…)

  • If you don’t have a PennDOT ID, you’ll need to print out a paper application by clicking the middle button below.

  • If you don’t have a PennDOT ID or a printer, we can deliver an application to you. Just click the right button to fill out the form.

Not sure if you’ve already applied to vote by mail?

Use the button below to check:

  • If you have applied to vote by mail

  • If your application has been processed

  • If your ballot has been mailed out to you

  • If your ballot has been received back at the Board of Elections
